This is a high quality, industrial style connector. It's great for robotics or industrial controls where you need a water tight connection you can easily disconnect. I'm using it to connect a remote GPS serial port signal, and it's working great. It's a good value, and it's just as good quality as you will get from the big industrial electronics stores.

I used this to connect to a small solar panel and then connected that to my yard robots GPS locator. It needs power and a good line of sight to the sky. I didn't feel like running a cord across the yard.
